Breathe Love…is first, a way of life. It is an idea that was born to bring together people who want to live and work collaboratively to live out their intentions…for any individual who wants to actually be remembered for “doing what they say”, doing it with love, and doing it for the greater good of the community. It is a protest for the positive growth of one’s community or ethnic group that is done via actual actions. In this era of social media wars and inflated opinions about worldly issues, we rarely see the actual suggestions for change given any merit. People speak on everything that pops up on their timelines, or on the local new sites, and even go to task berating someone who may have a differing opinion…some describe what they will/would do, but the majority of the time it’s just talk…until the next headline. This doesn’t do anything to actually solve any problems within our families, communities or in the world. BREATHE LOVE is a COMMUNITY about action. Individuals that have no problem backing up what they say and that will gladly do the necessary work to achieve results. It also has another meaning. It is a challenge to Afrikans across the continent and throughout the diaspora to embrace one another and take pride in their heritage. To look beyond nationalities, genders, religious beliefs, sexuality and other things that distract us from seeing each other as being a part of the same family tree. It is a call to communicate and build relationships. BREATHE LOVE is a call to action. A call to contribute our love, our gifts, our time, our energy and our willingness to take care of our communities in a way we can’t count on anyone else to do. It is our chance to BREATHE LOVE back in to our daily lives and repair a nation of people who are desperately calling for it.
